Follow these steps to prepare a mobile device for use with the NLINK ADC to SAP Solution .

Connect to the Wireless Network          

The appropriate mobile computer’s User Manual will give plenty of details of how to connect it to any wireless network.

Install DataWedge (Motorola devices only!)

Run Internet Explorer          

From the Windows Start menu, choose Start – Internet Explorer
Running in Normal Mode:
From Full Screen Mode, press and hold anywhere on the screen until the menu comes up. Uncheck “Full Screen”.
Running in Full Screen Mode:
Click on “menu” on the bottom right corner of the screen. Select “View”. Select “Full Screen”.

Set the Text Size to “Smallest”          

If you need to squeeze the maximum amount of information onto the mobile computer’s screen you can also set the Text Size.
With Internet Explorer in normal mode, select “View”. Select “Text Size”. Select “Smallest”.

Set the Browser Home Page to the ADC Web Site

works with on any device/ tablet in an HTML5 compatible browser. There is no need to deploy any application to device(s). However in cases where the browser based solution is not acceptable, NLINK Mobile application can be used as an alternative. 

NLINK Mobile application currently is only supported on Android devices. 

  • NLINK ADC to SAP Solution version 6.0.0.157 or later required to use NLINK Mobile
  • Make sure NLINK ADC to SAP Solution is configured and running using NMM
  • Android devices should be running Android OS 4.4.4 (KitKat) or later
  • On the device(s) check and make sure browser based NLINK ADC to SAP Solution works properly.

Step-by-step guide

NLINK Mobile application is not a public application that can be downloaded on Google Play. It is a private application either managed on Google Play or some other Mobile Device Management tool. If the Mobile Device Management in used then follow specific steps needs to deploy Android Application, NLINK Mobile's Android Application Package (APK) can be provided for deployment.

Without using Mobile Device Management tool or Google Play, NLINK Mobile application can be deployed using private channels. NLINK ADC to SAP Solution provides an option to deploy in such a manner. However devices will have to allow installation of applications from "Unknown Sources". Details steps to setup using private distribution channel can be found here
