Step-by-step guide

  1. Find the MAC Address

This is only necessary if the connectivity to the wireless network requires filtering of MAC addresses.
Note that sometimes the MAC address of the mobile computer is only shown after it has been connected to the network.

  2. Connect to the Wireless Network

The appropriate mobile computer’s User Manual will give plenty of details of how to connect it to any wireless network.

  3. Install DataWedge (Motorola devices only!)

Full details of how to install and configure DataWedge depends on version of DataWedge and also specific mobile computer. Instructions for Motorola’s MC9090 can be found here.

  4. Run Internet Explorer

From the Windows Start menu, choose Start – Internet Explorer
    Running in Normal Mode:
From Full Screen Mode, press and hold anywhere on the screen until the menu comes up. Uncheck “Full Screen”.
    Running in Full Screen Mode:
Click on “menu” on the bottom right corner of the screen. Select “View”. Select “Full Screen”.

  5. Set the Text Size to “Smallest”

If you need to squeeze the maximum amount of information onto the mobile computer’s screen you can also set the Text Size.
With Internet Explorer in normal mode, select “View”. Select “Text Size”. Select “Smallest”.

  6. Set the Browser Home Page to the ADC Web Site

In Internet Explorer, (in normal mode) select Menu – Tools – Options and do the business.
