Follow these steps to install the NLINK Mobile Application without using Mobile Device Management tools. 


Prerequisites

  • NLINK Mobile is installed on an Android device and Android device can connect to wireless network
  • NLINK Server is running and is accessible to Android device.
  • Firewall on NLINK Host is setup to allow incoming requests for ADC Port (default port is 9812)

Step-by-step guide

Mobile Device connectivity

  1. From browser on device, type in following URL and make sure NLINK Server can be reached

    http://[NLINKHOST]:9812/adc5.html

    where [NLINKHOST] is name or IP Address of machine where NLINK is installed and running.

Setting up application

First step after installing NLINK Mobile is to setup device to communicate with NLINK Server

  1. Start NLINK Mobile application by selecting application "NLINK Mobile"
     
  2. In the window that is displayed
    1. For NLINK Host enter [NLINKHOST] which is machine name or IP Address of the machine where NLINK is installed and running along with port configured for ADC5. Default port is 9812.
    2. For Password enter the NLINK Mobile administrator password as configured in your meta-database. Default value is “password” (all lower case)
  3. Press the OK button
  4. Once the setup is successful you will see following window to logon. Enter the credentials you use to logon to NLINK ADC to SAP Solution. Depending on authentication used, it can be Windows domain or SAP logon.
  5. Once proper credentials are entered and authenticated, depending configuration, ADC menu screen will be displayed
  6. Where applicable, the menu options are available under "Action Bar"→ "Action Overflow"
     

Known Issue

  1. If the devices loses connection to network in middle posting,in some cases  multiple messages are displayed. All indicate lack of network connection
