The NLINK ADC to SAP Solution works with any device or tablet that has an HTML5-compatible browser. There is no need to deploy an application to the device(s). However, in cases where the browser-based solution is not acceptable, for some reason, the NLINK Mobile application can be used as an alternative.

The NLINK Mobile application currently is only supported on Android devices.

Prerequisites

  • NLINK ADC to SAP Solution version 6.0.0.157 (or later) installed and running.
  • Android device(s) should be running Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) or later.
  • The Firewall on NLINK Host is setup to allow incoming requests for the ADC Port (default port is 9812).

NLINK Mobile application

The NLINK Mobile application is not a publicly available application. It can be deployed using various private channels. The NLINK Mobile application setup has two parts:

  1. Install the NLINK Mobile application
  2. Setup the NLINK Mobile application

Installing the NLINK Mobile application

Since the NLINK Mobile application is not a public application, it cannot be downloaded from Google Play. Instead, the NLINK Mobile Application can be distributed via various Enterprise Mobility Management tools or using an internal web site:

  1. Enterprise Mobility Management Tools
There are many different Enterprise Mobility Management tools available in the market. Any tool that allows deploying and managing Android Applications can be used to distribute the NLINK Mobile application to the devices. The NLINK Mobiie Android Application Package (APK) can be found on your NLINK ADC to SAP Solution host server. The location of the APK is [NLINK_INSTALL_FOLDER]\wwwroot\NLINK Application.apk, where [NLINK_INSTALL_FOLDER] is typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Junot Systems (for 64 bit). Follow the specific steps needed by your Enterprise Mobility Management tool to deploy the Android Application internally.

  2. Internal web site
Without using Enterprise Mobility Management tools or Google Play, the NLINK Mobile application can be deployed using a private web site. However, your devices will have to allow installation of applications from "Unknown Sources". For detailed steps to setup using default web site, see Install NLINK Mobile Application on Android using a website.

Setup the NLINK Mobile Application

See Install and Set Up NLINK Mobile on Android for completing the setup of the NLINK Mobile application.
