Cannot open interface log file

Cannot open interface log file

Problem

You see a message in the NLINK Management Module (and/or receive an automated error email from the NLINK Server) similar to the following:

Error Message
Unable to write message to the Interface Log.
Cannot open interface log file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Junot Systems\Logs\xxx.yyy'
Interface = XXX
Error =  Access is denied.

Solution

This indicates that the NLINK Server was unable to open the specified interface log file for write access. Depending on your NLINK configuration, various messages may be written to text file(s) called interface logs.

The included Error message (Access is denied in the example above) will be a Windows file system response to the NLINK Server. Investigate your NLINK machine to find out why the NLINK Server cannot write to the specified text file.

If the message is recurring, consider options such as disk space or access rights. If the message is a one-off, consider options such as anti-virus interference or user locking.
