Saving Event Log Files (7x and earlier)

The NLINK Server makes use of the Windows Event Log to log informational or error messages. The NLINK Management Module (NMM) provides the ability not only to view NLINK Server messages but also to save the NLINK Event Log.

Step-by-step guide

To save the Event Log from the NMM:

  1. Select File >> Save Event Log from the menu
    OR

  2. Right-click in the main window of the NMM and select Save Event Log
    OR

  3. Click the Save Event Log button (disk icon) in the Toolbar

In all cases, the NMM opens a dialog to allow you to choose where to save the event log file. The file will be saved with the extension .evt. This file can then be sent to Junot Systems support for troubleshooting any issues.

To clear the Event Log from the NMM:

  1. Select Tools >> Clear Event Log from the menu
    OR
  2. Right-click in the main window of the NMM and select Clear Event Log

The NMM also provides the option to view saved event log files. For more details see Advanced Event Log Options.

The Save option is not available when viewing saved event logs.

The Save option is only available when viewing local NLINK Server sessions.
