NLINK installation appears to be running slow

Problem

If NLINK installation seems to be running slower than normal then it can be because of any number of reasons. Here is a check list things to look at to ensure system is working properly

Solution

  1. Ping the Server and make sure that the network connection is good. Use “ping –t [servername or ip address]” to make sure the connection is good for 30 seconds or longer in case the network connection is intermittent.
  2. If necessary, use “tracert [servername or ip address]” to troubleshoot the network connection. For more information see Microsoft support site
  3. In the Windows task manager check to see how much Memory and CPU processor the NLINK Server is using.
  4. In the Windows task manager check to see if any other process is consuming an abnormally high amount of RAM of CPU processor resources.  If any of them are consuming a lot of system resources, re-start them or temporarily stop them.
  5. In the Windows task manager check to make sure that the aggregate memory and CPU usage of the another applications is not starving the NLINK Server of system resources.  If the aggregate system usage is high, temporarily stop some non-critical applications.
  6. Check in the NLINK Management Module to see if there are any errors.
  7. Check and make sure NLINK Server is not running in debug mode. See here for more details
  8. Check in the Windows Event Log to see if there are any application or system errors.
  9. Restart the NLINK Server
  10. If you just installed a new meta-database file, temporarily switch back to the old one to eliminate that change.
  11. Re-start the Windows Server.
  12. If you still cannot determine the issue send the NLINK Logs to support@junotsystems.com
