Advanced Event Log Options

Enable Advanced Event Log Options to view a saved NLINK Event Log in the NMM.

Step-by-step guide

Enable the Advanced Event Log Options:

  1. Choose Tools >> Settings from the menu.

  2. Select the Advanced Options tab.

  3. Check the Show Event Log Options box.

Open a Saved Event Log:

  1. Choose File >> Open Event Log File from the menu. (If this option is not available, see the previous step.)
  2. Specify the location of the Event Log you want to view.
If the version of NLINK used to create the Event Log is different than the current local version, you will want to specify a corresponding Message DLL. Otherwise, the text of the messages may not make sense.
  3. You also have the option to adjust the Time Zone that the NMM will use when displaying the Messages from the saved file.

If the file is very large, the NMM will prompt you to open it using “Quick Load” which bypasses some of the formatting of the regular view. The main difference as that in Quick Load view, the Messages will not be displayed as a tree. However, each NLINK Start and NLINK Stop event will be highlighted in bold to make it easier to find the session of interest.

Return to the Local Event Log:

  1. Choose Options >> Show Local Event Log from the menu
    OR
  2. Right-click in the main NMM window and choose Show Local Event Log.

These options will be disabled if you are already viewing the local Event Log.
